São Paulo state industry added new jobs

18/04/2017 at 19:22h

São Paulo – Employment numbers by the São Paulo state manufacturing industry increased 0.45% in March with 9,500 new jobs, without seasonal adjustments. From January to March, there was an increase of 0.62% with 13,500 new jobs, reversing the negative result (-1.33%) registered in Q1 of last year.

The data is from the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp). According to the federation, the increase was driven by the sugar and alcohol sector. “The positive result in March more than outweighed the decline seen in February. These oscillations are normal and show that employment tends to stabilize,” said in a statement the manager of Depecon, Guilherme Moreira.
