Meirelles expects GDP to grow 3%

Brasília – Brazil’s Finance minister, Henrique Meirelles, expressed via Twitter this Friday (8) optimism regarding the recovery of the Brazilian economy. “We will start 2018 with the economy growing at a pace around 3% and could grow even more in 2019,” he said.

According to the minister, the transformations being implemented are helping with confidence recovery, with long-term interest rates declining and the forecast of a sharper growth in the next few years. He mentioned the Labor reform, the inflation control and the country emerging from recession as the measures taken. In the Finance minister’s assessment, the country is ready to push forward the ongoing reforms plan.
