Retail sales up 0.5%

Rio de Janeiro – In September from August, retail sales climbed 0.5% in Brazil. In August from July, sales had dropped by 0.4%. The Monthly Retail Survey (Pesquisa Mensal de Comércio - PMC) was released this Tuesday (14) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Sales were up 6.4% year-on-year in September and 1.3% year-to-date through September 2017. In the 12 months through September, retail sales declined by 0.6% over the year-ago period.
