Agribusiness GDP to shrink this year

05/12/2017 at 19:43h

Brasília – Brazilian agribusiness Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to end 2017 2% narrower than last year, the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA) reported this Tuesday (5).

In 2018, the CNA sees the industry’s GDP rebounding to 0.5%-to-1% growth, depending on the political scenario, macroeconomic conditions and the international agriculture market.

Agricultural GDP, which contemplates only “farm gate” results, is seen going up 11% this year. According to the CNA, “it should be the highest-growing industry this year.”
