Inflation for lower income families eases

Rio de Janeiro – Brazil’s consumer price index Índice de Preços ao Consumidor - Classe 1 (IPC-C1), which tracks prices for families with incomes ranging from 1 to 2.5 minimum wages, ended November at 0.21%, down 0.21 percentage point from 0.42% in October. The indicator was made public this Wednesday (6) by the Brazilian Institute of Economics at think tank Fundação Getulio Vargas (IBRE/FGV). Inflation for lower income families was 2.1% year-to-date through November and 2.29% in the 12 months through November.
