Week begins with a new stock market record

São Paulo – The São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) closed up 0.39% this Monday (8) from last Friday (5), to 79,378 points, a new all-time high. Ibovespa, its main index, hit a record for the fifth time straight and went up for the 11th day in a row. Biggest-gaining shares included Vale, up 2.22%, Petrobras, up 1.57%, and Banco do Brasil, up 0.24%.

On the foreign exchange market, the US dollar was selling for BRL 3.236 by closing time, up 0.08% from Friday.
