Delinquency rate up 2.10% in January

São Paulo – The delinquency rate of consumers climbed 2.10% in January of 2018 in comparison to the same month of last year. This was the highest growth since June 2016, when it reached 2.78%. In comparison with December 2017, the increase was of 0.96%, the highest since May 2017.

According to data from the Delinquency Indicator, measured by the credit consulting firm Serviço de Proteção ao Crédito (SPC Brasil) and the National Confederation of Retail Business Owners (CNDL), released this Friday (9), there are over 60.7 million Brazilian consumers in default lists, which is equivalent to approximately 40% of the country’s adult population.
