Brazil’s energy consumption increased in 2017

São Paulo – Energy consumption went up again in Brazil in 2017, after two years in decline. It climbed 0.8%, according to data from the Power Sector Monitoring Committee, a body of the Ministry of Mines and Energy. The highest increase was seen in industrial consumption. For the 2018 to 2022 period, the forecast points to an average growth of 3.9% per year.
