Moroccans are betting on the potential of countries including Russia and China to make up for plummeting tourist numbers from traditional sources, such as France, Spain and Germany.
The event will be held by the United Nations’ World Tourism Organization and the Egyptian government on November 1 and 2.
Destinations around the world saw 561 million international tourists in the first half of the year, according to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
Tourists in transit from all nationalities can now stay up to four days in the country. The previous limit was 48 hours.
Morocco, Palestine and Dubai will be represented at the 44th Abav Expo, the international exhibition taking place in São Paulo next week.
The fair is scheduled from September 20 to 23. Artisans, operators and other exhibitors will display destinations, products and services from the country.
The airline now has four weekly flights to the country. In October, a larger plane will be used from Casablanca to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. A change of terminal will be made in November.
The year-on-year result in July came as a consequence of a reduced influx of Russians to the Arab country.
