Industry confidence goes up
Survey by Fundação Getulio Vargas registered a 2.9 points increase to 90.7 points, the best result since May 2014.
São Paulo – After 33 consecutive months in decline, the Industry Confidence Index (ICI) went up 2.9 points, reaching 90.7 points, as per the preliminary results of the Manufacturing Industry Survey conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Economics (IBRE) of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). This was the best result since May 2014 registered 92.2 points.
For the survey’s coordinator, Tabi Thuler Santos, there are signs that the confidence of the sector is recovering since the survey shows that it is leaving behind “the most critical stage, although dissatisfied business owners still outnumber those satisfied.” In case this is confirmed, says Tabi, it will show signs of recovery for the economy, with the increase in production and job creation.
