Cuiabá hosts 9th International Multisectorial Fair

Arab crafts, dance and cuisine are part of the event, which takes place from March 31 to April 9 at the Pantanal Event Center.

São Paulo – The 9th edition of the Cuiabá International Multisectorial Fair, an annual event that promotes integration of different cultures in the capital of Mato Grosso state, opened this Friday (31). The event, which runs until Sunday, April 9, gathers exhibitors from many countries, including from the Arab world.

Food court offers items from the Arab cuisine

The fair is being held at the Pantanal Event Center. According to the organization, the pavilion has dedicated spaces to the Egyptian, Syrian, Moroccan and Arab cultures – in all, 20 Brazilian states and 15 countries will be represented. The idea is to encourage the culture, tourism, trade, leisure and social responsibility, generating income and promoting temporary work to salespeople, translators and service providers.

Artisans from all around the world will have a space to promote free workshops. The organization also highlights the food court, which will offer the traditional esfihas, kibbes and Syrian desserts, and the cultural square, which will hold a presentation of ethnic dances, including belly dance, Arab folklore, Arab fusion dance, among others.

The anniversary of Cuiabá is celebrated on April 8, which will be a Saturday. For this day, there will be fireworks in tribute to the city.

The fair will also include social action: the BRL 10 (USD 3.20) fare charged up until last year was cut in half, BRL 5 (USD 1.60), to go along with 1 kg of non-perishable food item. The goal is to collect 100 tons of food during the ten days of the fair, which will go to Cancer Hospital of Mato Grosso.
