Brazil’s oil output up 11%

Production increased year-on-year in April. In April from March, however, it slid by 0.4%.



São Paulo – Oil production in Brazil reached 2.539 million barrels per day, up 10.9% from a year ago, but down 0.4% from March 2017, the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) reported this Thursday (1).

Daily natural gas production reached 103 million cubic meters, up 7.1% from April 2016 and 1.2% from March 2017. Total oil and gas output amounted to 3.184 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), ANP said.

Ultradeep water production in the pre-salt area reached 1.496 million boed, or 47% of the national total.
