Petrobras’ oil output up 4%

The state-owned company produced, on average, 2.18 million daily barrels per day in Brazil in May.

Rio de Janeiro – In May, Petrobras’ average oil output from domestic oilfields reached 2.18 million daily barrels per day, up 3.9% over April. The growth can be attributed, among other reasons, to the start of production of platform P-66 in the South of the Lula field, in the Santos Basin.

Also a factor for the growth in the month was the resumption of production at two plataforms that were under maintenance: P-37 (in Marlim field, Campos Basin) and FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis (Lula field).

Taking into account Brazil’s oil and gas production abroad, the company’s total output reached 2.8 million barrels of oil equivalent, with 2.68 million from Brazil and 120,000 from abroad.
