Factory-gate prices go up

The index measuring products’ factory-gate prices registered 0.12% of inflation rate in May, after a decline in April.

Rio de Janeiro – The Producer Price Index (IPP), which measures the variations of factory-gate prices in Brazilian manufacturing industry, not including taxes and freight costs, registered an inflation of 0.12% in May. In April, these products’ prices had decline 0.11%. The data was made available this Wednesday (28) in Rio de Janeiro by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

Despite the increase of 0.12% in May, the IPP, year-to-date, is at 0.07%. Year-over-year, manufactured products are registering an increase of 2.26% in their fatory-gate prices.
