In May alone, 619,630 people travelled at the airport, down 1.9% year-on-year.

AIG said the airport saw 6,268 aircraft movements in May, up 1% from May 2016. Year-to-date through May, however, movements were down 1%.

Cargo throughput was up 2.2% to 9,185 tons in May 2016, but dropped by 6.5% year-to-date through May.

AIG expects activity to pick up over the next few months. “With summer well under way, we anticipate favorable figures as many people take advantage of the warm weather and holiday season to travel with their friends and families,” Petra quoted Airport International Group’s CEO Kjeld Binger as saying.
