Morocco to bid to host 2026 World Cup

The Arab country presented officially its bid to host the FIFA 2026 World Cup this Friday (11) to FIFA.

Rabat – This Friday (11) Morocco presented officially its bid to host the FIFA 2026 World Cup, announced the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) in a statement. The information is from EFE Agency. “The Federation has presented its bid to the responsible committee of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association [FIFA],” explained the Federation.

Today is the last day for football federations to present their bids to host the 2026 World Cup. Up until now, the only ones to have placed a bid were the football federations of the United States, Mexico and Canada, which placed a joint bid. Morocco has already bid four times (1994, 1998, 2006, 2010) but was never selected. The host of the 2026 World Cup will be decided during the 68th FIFA Congress, set to take place in Russia in 2018.
