Brazil posts a USD 1.37 bn trade surplus

Exports totaled USD 4.56 billion and imports, USD 3.18 billion, in September’s first two weeks, according to the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC).



São Paulo – In September’s first two weeks, Brazil registered a trade surplus of USD 1.37 billion. According to data released by the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC), exports totaled USD 4.56 billion, with imports at USD 3.18 billion, in the period, which only had five business days.

Comparing the results of the daily average from the month’s first two weeks with the average from September of last year, exports increased by 21.2% (USD 912 million), with imports climbing 11.5% (USD 636.7 million).

In the year, exports reached USD 150.5 billion, with imports totaling USD 101 billion, resulting in a surplus of USD 49.5 billion.
