Vehicle sales up 24.5%

Nearly 200,000 units were sold in Brazil last September, up from 160,000 in September 2016.

São Paulo – New vehicle sales in Brazil climbed 24.5% year-on-year in September, the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distributors (Fenabrave) reported this Tuesday (3). Last month saw 199,277 units sold, up from 159,953 in September 2016. Year-to-date through September, 1.62 million vehicles were sold in Brazil, up 7.356% from January to September 2016.

But September sales were down 7.36% in September from 217,000 vehicles in August. The reason was that there were three holidays in September, and its daily average exceeded that of August. This means the industry has recovered consistently so far this year.
