Commerce confidence increases

Index measured by trade federation FecomercioSP went up 1% in September over August and stands at its highest level since April 2014.



São Paulo – The Retailer Confidence Index (ICEC) went up 1% from 105.2 points in August to 106.2 points in September. The index is measured by the Federation of Commerce of the State of São Paulo (FecomercioSP) and ranges from zero to 200. The September index is the highest since April 2014. In comparison to the same month of last year, there was an increase of 18.9%.

Among the largest companies, with over 50 employees, there was an increase of 3.5% in confidence in September over August, with the index in companies with less than 50 employees going up 0.9%. Year-over-year, both large and small companies had an increase in confidence, by 26% and 18.8%, respectively.
