Industries: 21.8% to become digital

A survey by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) shows that, in ten years, the percentage of Brazilian industries that will be 4.0 will go from the current 1.6% to 21.8%.

São Paulo – The digitalization of the industrial production process should reach 21.8% of Brazilian companies in a decade, shows a survey released this Tuesday (12) by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). Currently, the percentage stands at 1.6%.

The survey, part of the Project Industry 2027, assess the expectations of 759 large and medium-sized Brazilian companies and multinational regarding the adoption of 4.0 technologies. The project is an initiative by CNI and the Euvaldo Lodi Institute (IEL) in a partnership with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and the University of Campinas (Unicamp). For CNI, to bring the labor force up to date will be a challenge.

The data refers to the highest level of connection within the production process – Generation 4 – with integrated information and communication technologies (ICT), networked plants and intelligent processes, with the skills to feed managers with information for decision-making.
