São Paulo – The CEO of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Michel Alaby, visited the Embassy of Palestine in Brasília this Friday morning (22) to sign a book supporting the recognition of East Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Palestine.

“We went to Brasília to sign the book and support an Arab country that’s so important to the Arab community in Brazil and the world,” said Alaby.

The Embassy’s initiative of inviting supporters of the Palestinian Cause to sign the book came as a response to United States president Donald Trump’s move to transfer the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and to recognize the latter as the Israeli capital. The book will be sent to the Palestinian government.

Standing beside ambassador Ibrahim Alzeben, Alaby wrote: “On behalf of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce’s board, council and staff, we offer our full solidarity and support to Palestine in its struggle against the oppressor. We must seek full support from the international community for the clear definition of the State of Palestine. The Palestinian people’s quest for Independence is a ceaseless fight. Hail Palestine.”
