Inflation, GDP forecasts from banks down

As per the Brazilian Central Bank’s Focus Bulletin, financial market players polled expect 3.95% inflation and 2.69% economic growth this year.



Brasília – The inflation forecast for this year from Brazilian financial market players dropped marginally. The Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA, in the Portuguese acronym) went from 3.96% last week to 3.95% in this one. Four weeks ago, the forecast had been 4.02%.

The projection was released this Monday (8) by the Brazilian Central Bank in its Focus Bulletin, containing the results of a poll covering key economic indicators.

Expected Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth declined marginally, from 2.70% to 2.69%.
