Warner Bros. theme park to open before July in Abu Dhabi

The Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi cost USD 1 billion. The construction works of the newest attraction of Yas Island are being finalized and the opening could be sooner than anticipated.

São Paulo – The construction works of the theme park Warner Bros. World in Abu Dhabi are ahead of schedule. They should be finished before the deadline and the opening, expected to be in July, could be anticipated, according to information from the website of Dubai-based magazine Arabian Business. The data on the construction works was made public by the vice chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The park will be split in six themes, based on characters of Warner

Costs for the Warner Bros. World reached USD 1 billion and the park is located at Yas Island, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The park will offer 29 attractions, concerts and interactive toys, plus stores and restaurants designed based on the characters of DC Comics, Looney Tunes and Hanna Barbera.

The park’s attractions are spread out over 1.65 million square feet and divided in separate themed areas: Bedrock, from the Flintstones; Dynamite Canyon, from Coyote; Cartoon Junction, with the main ACME characters, such as Tom and Jerry; Gotham City, from Batman; and Metropolis, from Superman; plus the Warner Bros. Plaza, inspired in the old Hollywood.

This will be world’s largest indoor themed park, according to a press release. “The park’s opening will enrich our tourism supply, attracting tourists from across the world and establishing Abu Dhabi as a distinguished destination for culture and leisure,” said the president of construction company Miral, which, besides the park, also designed the artificial island Yas, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak

Mubarack said that the water tower was inspired by the iconic tower of Warner Bros.. In California, it will also be ready. According to him, over 6.800 engineers, construction staff and artists were also hired by the venture. The park will be part of Miral’s portfolio of theme parks on Yas Island, which includes the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld and the future attractions CLYMB and Sea World Abu Dhabi.
