Lebanon promotes wine, olive oil and honey in Brazil

Representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Arab country will promote their products to Brazilian importers in a meeting next Monday at the Arab Chamber. Sign up.

São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce will host the Meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture of Lebanon, with the support from the Lebanon General Consulate in São Paulo. The event is scheduled for next Monday (29), at 10 AM, at Paulista Avenue, 283, 11th floor.

It will be a breakfast to promote the contact between Brazilian importers of wine, olive oil and honey with Lebanese authorities of the sector, such as the general director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Luis Lahoud; the president of the Agricultural Export and Import department, Charles Zarzour; and with the director of the Animals Resources Directorate, Elias Ibrahim, and the Ministry of Agriculture’s veterinarians, Elias Chaaban and Yahya Khattar.

This will be an opportunity for Brazilian importers to get to know better the quality of the Lebanese wine, olive oil and honey and boost the bilateral trade between the two countries in the sector, as well as clarify any doubts on regulations and registrations of agricultural products.

Lebanon’s exports to Brazil totaled USD 19.5 million last year, an increase of 854% over 2016. The country sold especially fertilizers to Brazil.

The sales of wine totaled USD 93,500, up 31% in the same comparison. Regarding olive oil, shipments were worth USD 88,600, an increase of 135%. There wasn’t any trade involving honey. The data is from Brazil’s Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC).
