São Paulo – The Global Business Forum on Latin America began in 2016 with the aim to explore the potential of new businesses between Dubai and the Latin American region. This year’s edition will take place on February 27 and 28 at the Atlantis The Palm, in the emirate, and is organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the support of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.

Other supporters of the event are the Inter-American Development Bank (IBD), the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp), Promexico, the Mexican government body responsible to strengthen the country’s participation in the international economy, and Prochile, Chile’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The forum aims to identify future sources of growth in both regions, explore global and regional alliances and search for joint business opportunities.

The schedule is divided in three blocks: sources of growth, emerging partnerships for the development of new ties and the use of synergies for future connections.

Entrepreneurs interested in establishing partnerships with the Gulf countries will have the opportunity to watch international leaders in debates that can shape the future of governments and businesses. The speakers will be heads of state, business leaders, investors and other personalities.

Among the Brazilians confirmed to speak in this edition are Eric Asher, co-founder of the venture capital funds Monashees, and Fernando Queiroz, president of the meat processing plant Minerva Foods, which has, among its shareholders, the Saudi company Salic. Also taking part in the event is the Colombian founder of financial startup Nubank in Brazil, David Vélez, among other Latin Americans and Arabs.

“The forum shows that the United Arab Emirates are seeing Latin America as the right destination for businesses, investments and tourism,” said the CEO of the Arab Chamber, Michel Alaby. According to him, the event will be a meeting between entrepreneurs and governments, seeking to bring closer the countries and to generate more business opportunities.

To Alaby, this is only one of a series of events that Brazil is taking part in the UAE, such as the Gulfood, from February 18 to 22, in Dubai, and the Brazilian Festival, from February 22 to 25, in Abu Dhabi.

“These three events aim to promote an image of Brazil as an effective supplier country of food products, fresh and processed, as well as of a country open to investments in many other sectors,” he said.

In the last five years, the brand Global Business Forum had 5,800 participants from 65 countries in its events, plus ten heads of state, 84 ministers and over 160 speakers.

The Forum has limited registrations and they should be made here: https://globalbusinessforum.com/latin-america/contact.
