São Paulo – The industry project Brazilian Health Devices, a partnership between the Brazilian Medical Devices Manufacturers Association (ABIMO) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), will take, in February, 21 Brazilian companies to participate in two trade expos in Dubai, United Arab Emirates: MedLab, of the lab sector, and AEEDC, of the dental sector.

Press Release

Since last year, MedLab turned independent

Both fairs, which get visitors mainly from the Middle East and North Africa, take place simultaneously, but MedLab opens one day earlier, on February 5. Since last year, the trade expo has turned independent – before, it was held within Arab Health, another important fair that started last Monday (29) and is also welcoming Brazilian companies. For this year, MedLab’s organization expects 27,000 visitors and 590 exhibitors.

Five ABIMO member companies will exhibit at the Brazilian stand at MedLab: BioBrasil, Bioclin, Labtest, LB Diagnóstica and Lupetec. “Buyers from the Middle East show a great deal of sympathy for our production and for the Brazilian way of negotiating. Besides, the region occupies a central position in the globe, which makes it geographically strategic area”, says Larissa Gomes, ABIMO’s trade promotion coordinator, in a statement.

BioBrasil will use the expo to hold the global launching of a product, according to its CEO, António Dias. “We will launch DAPI – Automated Diagnosis of Intestinal Parasites and we are expecting to sign trading contracts with distributors from across the world,” he said, according to ABIMO’s statement.

Caio Cesar Martins, managing director of Lupetec, plans to expand the company’s markets. “We have distributors in Saudi Arabia and are negotiating with others in Tunisia and Qatar. Besides, we had an order from a lab in Dubai, with which we plan to tighten the ties and strengthen the partnership,” he explained, according to the statement.
