Emirates launches new São Paulo-Dubai flight

The airline announced a route from Santiago do Chile to Dubai, via São Paulo, starting in July. It will be a morning take off option. Currently, the daily flight takes off in the early hours.

São Paulo – Emirates airline will offer a new five times per week flight taking off from São Paulo to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and back, starting on July 5. The company announced this Wednesday (31) a flight from Santiago do Chile to Dubai, via the São Paulo state capital.

The new flight option from São Paulo will take off in the morning. Currently, the Emirates flight takes off from Guarulhos International Airport in the morning early hours and arrives in Dubai on the same day in the evening – local time.

The new flight is scheduled to leave Santiago do Chile on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, at 1:10 am, arriving in São Paulo at 5:55 am, from where it takes off again at 7:45 am, arriving in the UAE at 5:15 am of the next day. Dubai’s time zone is seven hours ahead of Brasília – during daylight saving time, it’s ahead six hours.

From Dubai, the flight is scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, at 9:05 am, arriving in São Paulo at 5 pm of the same day, and leaving again, at 6:30, to Santiago do Chile, arriving in its destination at 9:40 pm. The current daily flight from Dubai to São Paulo has a close take off time, at 9 am.

The route will also be an option by Emirates from São Paulo to Santiago do Chile. The flight taking off from Dubai will be the EK263, and the one leaving Chile will be the EK264.

With this new option, Emirates airline will offer 12 flights per week between São Paulo and Dubai, with an additional 300 seats to each destination, according to Hubert Frach, the divisional senior vice president of commercial operations West. The current Dubai-São Paulo-Dubai is a daily flight.

“In the last 10 years, our flight to São Paulo has been gaining momentum for both passengers and cargo. In March 2017, we updated our services to São Paulo with an Airbus A380,” said Frach in a statement.

The new route will be operated with a Boeing 777-200LR. It has 38 Business Class seats and 264 Economy class seats. It will also offer up to 14 tons of capacity for cargo.

The new announced flight marks the beginning of operations by Emirates in Chile. It will take off from Santiago International Airport. The company says that the initiative underlines its commitment with South America.

In Brazil, in addition to São Paulo, Emirates also offers direct flights to Dubai from Rio de Janeiro.
