Motorcycle exports up 46.6%

In January, Brazil shipped 8,227 motorcycles abroad.

São Paulo – Brazil exported 8,227 motorcycles in January, an increase of 46.6% over the same month of last year, according to data released this Friday (9) by the Brazilian Association of Motorcycle, Moped and Bicycle Manufacturers (Abraciclo). In comparison to December 2017, there was an increase of 15.8%. The main destinations for the motorcycles abroad were Argentina, Australia and Bolivia.

The Brazilian production totaled 81,306 units, down 0.4% over January of last year, but an increase of 17.8% over December 2017. In January, 76,993 motorcycles were sold in the Brazilian retail market, up 13.9% in comparison to the first month of last year, but a decline of 0.6% over last December. According to Abraciclo, it was the best January since 2014, when 133,632 units were sold.
