Inflation preview at 0.38%

This is the second lowest IPCA-15 rate for a February since the 1994 government plan Plano Real. The lowest-ever rate was the one from February 2000.

Brasília – The National Consumer Price Index – 15 (IPCA-15), a preview of official inflation in Brazil, reached 0.38% in February this year. The index had stood at 0.39% in January and 0.54% in February 2017. The number was made public this Friday (23) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

This was the second lowest IPCA-15 number for a February since government plan Plano Real was rolled out, in 1994. The lowest rate on record was 0.34%, in February2000. The IPCA-15 was 0.77% year-to-date through February and 2.86% in the 12 months through February.
