Agricultural output to reach USD 158 billion

According to estimates, the value from crops and livestock farming will be down 5.2% in 2018 from 2017 in Brazil.

São Paulo - Brazilian crops and livestock farming are expected to yield BRL 515.9 billion (USD 158.2 billion) in 2018, the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply reported this Tuesday (13). The number is down 5.2% from BRL 544.2 billion (USD 166.9 billion) in 2017.

Crops are seen amounting to BRL 346.1 billion (USD 106.1 billion), down 5.7% from 2017 numbers, with BRL 169.8 billion (USD 52 billion) coming from livestock, down 4.1%. Revenue from eight out of 17 crop products are expected to increase in 2018: cotton, potato, cocoa, coffee, castor bean, soybean, tomato and wheat.
